The regulation, jointly released by the Ministry of Veterans Affairs and the Political Work Department of the Central Military Commission, further underlines the principle of matching jobs to veterans based on their performance in service. Veterans will be assigned jobs in accordance with a score, which is based on several categories such as one's performance in combat, training level and war preparedness, length of service, living conditions of their service location, and military rank. Those who earned honorary titles and medals when in service will be prioritized when receiving job assignments, while those who practice fraud with their personal files will see their scores deducted. The new rules expanded the applicable scope of bonus points for talents, covering all military personnel including both officers and soldiers. SEOUL - The Republic of Korea (ROK)'s President Moon Jae-in's special envoys to the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK) agreed to meet with top DPRK leader Kim Jong-un, the Blue House of ROK said Monday.Presidential Spokesman Kim Eui-kyeom told a press briefing that the special delegation had agreed with the DPRK side to have a meeting and a dinner with the DPRK leader from 6 pm local time (0900 GMT) on Monday.It was not known whether the dinner meeting had started as agreed upon.The 10-member delegation, led by Chung Eui-yong, top national security advisor for President Moon, took off from an airport in Seongnam, outside of Seoul, at about 1:50 pm local time.The delegation, composed of five envoys and five working-level officials, included Suh Hoon, director of the National Intelligence Service (NIS), Vice Unification Minister Chung Hae-sung, Second Deputy NIS Director Kim Sang-gyun, and Yun Kun-young, a senior Blue House official.The plane carrying the ROK delegation arrived in the Sunan International Airport in Pyongyang at around 2:50 pm local time, according to the Blue House.The special emissaries were greeted by Ri Son-gwon, chairman of the Committee for the Peaceful Reunification of the Fatherland who visited the ROK last month as a member of high-ranking DPRK delegations to the opening and closing ceremonies of the 23rd Winter Olympics.ROK envoys moved to a resort facility in Pyongyang to meet with Kim Yong-chol, vice chairman of the Central Committee of the ruling Workers' Party of Korea who led the ranking DPRK delegation to the Olympic closing ceremony.During the meeting with the vice chairman, ROK envoys discussed schedules for their two-day stay in Pyongyang, agreeing to have a dinner meeting with the DPRK leader, according to the Blue House.
